Abstract

In five texts in the Pauline letters (1Cor 15:49; 2Cor 3:18; 4:4; Rom 8:29 and Col 1:15) the term „image“ (eivkw,n) tells something about Jesus, the risen one, and about the sal­vation which is promised the believers. This term is rooted in the creation story of the book of Genesis (Gen 1:26–27). It also signifies revelation. The five texts complement one another and indicate that the term eivkw,n is highly valued in Saint Paul’s theology.
