The paper focuses on Jesus as shepherd and king in John 10:1–18 und searches for this topic in the Scriptures of the Old Testament and in the Greco–Roman sources. It analyses John 10:1–18 in the light of its topical analogies with these sources und asks for the literary addresses of the dedication of life of the good shepherd Jesus.
