Abstract

Debora and Jael, Judith and Esther are Old Testament women who commit murder themselves or are closely linked to violent deeds. The Church Fathers do not condemn their acts. They consider them as types of the church and as examples of faith and courage who save their people’s life from physical and spiritual enemies.
