Belonging as Aliens: Perspectives on a New Testament Theo-logy of Migration

In this article, the question of Christian existence as genuinely migratory is explored. 1 Peter and Hebrews are analyzed in order to deconstruct the dichotomy between belonging and foreignness. Consequences of Christian identity framed as a migratory existence are discussed: If Christians describe themselves as migrants, they cannot be seen as a counterpart to so-called foreigners. Foreignness is always already part of belonging.
