Abstract

The article examines the intersections of gender attributions and social as well as religious-cultic provisions about foreigners in legal texts of the Torah. It analyzes texts containing a “Leerstelle” whether women are included in protective provisions for the foreigner (e.g. Ex 22:20–23) and Torah texts on foreigners that explicitly mention women (Ex 21:7–11; Dtn 7:1–4).
