Abstract

Together with the text of Esra-Nehemia its division into main parts and subdivisions has been handed down in the manuscripts. The new text edition of BHQ marks the divisions of the Codex Leningradensis (ML) by inserting the signia ס/פ, at the same time partly adding in the appendix the corresponding data of the Jemenite Codex Cambridge Ms. Add. 1753 (MY), which is roughly 400 years younger. The short-layouts and the meta-layouts of the two manuscripts do not only offer an overview of their literary structures and the differences between the two recorded divisions, but also allow us to draw conclusions from them.
